Gorky House of Scientists | Vladimir Palace
Dvortsovaya emb., 26
The House of Scientists was opened in 1920 on the initiative of the commission for improving the life of scientists, headed by Maxim Gorky. The life of scientists was organized in the former Palace of Grand Duke Vladimir Alexandrovich Romanov.
Scientific events were regularly held within its walls: debates, reports and lectures, as well as concerts.
The program has remained relevant to this day. Today, the Gorky House of Scientists hosts lectures by local sections: psychologists, physicists, writers and even gardeners. As part of the "KINOsreda in the House of Scientists" project, popular science films are screened, and regular exhibitions on various topics are organized in the exhibition halls.
In the two ceremonial concert halls of the palace - "White" and "Oak" - literary and musical cycles, concerts of baroque and symphonic music, children's musical fairy tales are performed. All this has become an important part of the intellectual leisure of residents and guests of St. Petersburg.
