The garden was named after the former name of a part of Metallistov Avenue, Lyubashinsky Avenue. In the green area, a worship cross was installed in memory of the Pokrovskaya Church on the disappeared street of the same name, included in the avenue, with plans to build a church in the future.


In 2019, the garden is being renovated, like the Pioneer Park of the same microdistrict, and a reconstruction of the concrete fountain bowl, which had been empty for about 50 years, was carried out in it for the first musical fountain in the microdistrict with lighting, a pedestrian bridge over the bowl and a gazebo in its middle, a recreation area and sports grounds. The Lyubashinsky fountain is named after the park and was opened on August 24, 2019.
