The monument on Gorokhovaya Street is the first monument to Olga Bergholz erected in St. Petersburg.
During the blockade, a hospital for soldiers of the Leningrad Front was located on the college grounds, where Olga Bergholz regularly performed her poems for wounded soldiers.
