Educational performances have historically been one of the most important conditions for education in theatre institutes, so that everyone can demonstrate their personality, talent and professionalism. So, in 1962, students of the Leningrad State Institute of Theatre, Music and Cinematography had their own real venue — a theatre with an arena stage and a hall for 500 spectators.

For 60 years, the theatre has preserved its uniqueness — a regularly updated repertoire, which consists only of student performances. Artists experiment in different genres, try themselves in different formats. The poster of the Educational Theatre "At Mokhovaya” is decorated with puppet shows for the youngest viewers, and productions based on the works of world classics for the adult audience.
