Andreevsky Garden | Kronstadt
Kronstadt, Andreevsky garden
Andreevsky Garden is the oldest park in Kronstadt. This place is very famous for its natural beauty and historical significance. It was here in the center of the park that the famous St. Andrew's Cathedral was located, which helped people endure the hardships of terrible times. During the war, city residents often came to this park to pray for their relatives and homeland. Neat alleys and centuries-old trees keep the imprint of a distant time. The cathedral was destroyed in 1932, but the garden continued to exist. Over time, the arrangement of the garden and park territory underwent some changes. The fence around the park was removed, the monument to Lenin, which was erected on the site of the destroyed cathedral, was moved to another place. Now Andreevsky Garden is a place where you can relax with the whole family from the bustle of the world and enjoy living nature.
Outdoor lighting installations of the Andreevsky Garden in the city square appeared in 1991. Reconstruction of the square lighting was carried out in 2018. As a result of the work carried out on the territory of the garden, including on the playground, 12 metal floor lamps with LED lamps with a total power of 792 W were installed. The outdoor lighting network with a length of 320 meters is carried out by cable lines. Electricity supply of the outdoor lighting system of the garden and park territory is carried out from the existing power point. Garden lighting after sunset is conducive to a comfortable evening pastime and harmony with nature.
In 2017, LenSvet highlighted the architectural silhouette of the Chapel in honor of the Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God, located on the territory of the Andreevsky Garden, with spotlights. During the reconstruction in 2018, the foundation of the St. Andrew's Cathedral was discovered in the garden. The place where the cathedral stood is classified as a cultural heritage site of the peoples of Russia.
Nearby, in the green area near Gostiny Dvor, there is one of the few "dancing" fountains in St. Petersburg. The fountain was installed in honor of the 300th anniversary of the city in the park near Gostiny Dvor and has become one of the most beautiful light and music compositions in St. Petersburg. The fountain's vast pool (220 sq. m.) is lined with granite. A bowl is installed in the pool, repeating the contours of Peter the Great's Kronshlot fort. The fountain's water system itself is created using modern technologies with electromagnetic valves. Due to this, a unique moving pattern of water jets is formed. The water streams continuously dance, changing the height of their movement. The curves of the water jets are illuminated by four LED spotlights. Thanks to beautiful musical pieces and artistic lighting, unique shows are created that enchant with their beauty and spectacle in the dark.
