Austrian Square
Avstriyskaya pl.
Four of the five buildings that rise on Austrian Square were designed in 1901-1906 by one of the most famous architects of the last century, Vasily Shaub. These elegant buildings became the embodiment of Art Nouveau in St. Petersburg architecture.
The small size and strict architecture of the facades of the buildings facing the square and forming a regular octagon allowed us to choose a simple lighting style. Identical medium-power devices are located along the cornices and on the facades of the buildings. The lighting is done in a single style, based on the method of uniform filling with diffused light. The emphasis is on the characteristic functional and architectural features of the buildings located on Austrian Square. In total, about 290 lamps and more than 330 spotlights are connected for architectural and artistic illumination of the facades. The lighting installation is mounted in such a way that it does not violate the architectural integrity of the object with the appearance of the equipment.
