The sports complex resembles a light, graceful “basket” and fits organically into the ensemble of the Petrograd Side.

In mid-September 1967, on the territory of the former garden association on Dobrolyubov Avenue, the grand construction of the Sports Palace began, which would later be named "Yubileiny" in honor of the 50th anniversary of Soviet power.

This site was called experimental. Here, the design with "wheels" and the original cable-stayed structure of the main arena's covering were tested for the first time. "Yubileiny" is an entire era in urban development.

And for almost 50 years, since 1967, "Yubileiny" has continued to promote the development of sports. First of all, such sports as figure skating, hockey, basketball, volleyball and other sports. The world-famous figure skating school based on "Yubileiny" has raised a whole galaxy of champions of the highest rank.

Today, the main arena of the complex can comfortably accommodate more than 7,000 spectators. A small arena and a training rink have also been built.

The Yubileiny Sports Complex is a multi-purpose complex designed to host a variety of sports, entertainment, and cultural events: championships of various levels in hockey, figure skating, and basketball; short track, boxing, all types of wrestling, mini-football, volleyball, ballroom dancing, gymnastics; concerts, performances by contemporary foreign and domestic pop stars, exhibitions and fairs, corporate celebrations, ice circus, New Year's performances, conferences, and presentations.
