The modern name Nobel Lane was assigned to the nameless lane on May 26, 2011. The name is due to the fact that the lane passes through the former residential town for employees of the L. Nobel factory
March 31, 2015, on the day of memory of Ludwig Nobel, at the house number 20 on Lesnoy Prospekt, the grand opening of the memorial plaque about the eighty-year activity of the Nobel dynasty in St. Petersburg took place. Memorial plaques were designed and manufactured free of charge by the President of the Russian Academy of Arts Z. Tsereteli.
