Submariners' Square in Kronstadt is a historical place. 100 years ago, Narva Square was located here, now renamed Martynov Square, the chairman of the Kronstadt council, who was shot during the Krasnogorsk betrayal. A park was hastily laid out on this square.

In the past, Narvskaya Square played the role of the Field of Mars in St. Petersburg - booths were set up here for Maslenitsa and Easter week, and temporary premises for touring circuses were often built. The main street of Kronstadt - Lenin Avenue - began on Narvskaya Square. In Martynov Square there is a monument to the submariners of the Red Banner Baltic Fleet who defended the approaches to the city during the Great Patriotic War. The monument is a granite stele on a five-step base. On the front side is the inscription: "Glory to the submariners of the Red Banner Baltic Fleet who defended the approaches to the city of Lenin during the Great Patriotic War." To the right of the inscription is a stylized image of an anchor, and at the foot of the stele is a granite block with a relief of a submarine emerging. Residents of Kronstadt keep the memory of the submarine heroes, so this green area was named Submariners' Square. The historical monument to submariners is highlighted with light in the dark, and floor lamps are installed in the square itself, creating a cozy atmosphere in the garden and park area.
